About Chapter

Recognized as one of the top Chapters in the country, the Cleveland East Chapter provides accounting and finance professionals with personal and professional development through continuing education programs, leadership opportunities, student chapters, networking, and community service activities. Our annual Controller’s Conference is recognized as one of the premier accounting events in Northeast Ohio.

The Cleveland East Chapter was formed from members of the Cleveland Chapter and its charter was granted on April 1, 1969. Cleveland East’s first president was Robert S. Durnwald, who also served on the National Board of Directors.

The Cleveland East Chapter is a member of the IMA Ohio Regional Council.  As of January 1, 2017, the Cleveland East Chapter has approximately 130 members. Most of the businesses represented by Cleveland East Chapter members are located in the eastern half of Cuyahoga County and western half of Lake and Geauga Counties.

IMA’s mission is to provide a forum for research, practice development, education, knowledge sharing and the advocacy of the highest ethical and best business practices in management accounting and finance.

With over 125,000+ members, the IMA is the leading organization for management accounting and finance professionals worldwide. Members have the opportunity to join a leading group of professionals who have advanced beyond the practical accounting skill set by earning IMA’s prestigious global certification, the Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and utilizing the benefits of IMA Membership.
