Dan Tomola joined Maloney + Novotny LLC over 12 years ago and is a Shareholder and leader of the firm’s tax department. He specializes in multiple areas of taxation, where he works as a consultant in the areas of compliance, tax planning, and tax preparation. He has extensive experience working with estate and trust work, corporate taxation/planning, and individual taxation/planning. His client base includes a wide range of industries including manufacturing, professional services, auto-dealerships, & healthcare entities.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mount Union, majoring in Accounting, Finance and Economics. Dan is a member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs. Dan is an active member of the North American Tax Committee of Nexia, a leading, global network of independent accounting and consulting firms since 2020. He is a proud Ambassador for the First Tee of Cleveland, a golf program that helps youth throughout Northeast Ohio build character, self-confidence and resilience in everything they do.
Dave Reyes joined Maloney + Novotny LLC in 1986 and became shareholder in our Tax Consulting Services Group in 2000. He specializes in the areas of employee benefit plans and tax-exempt organizations. Dave is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and consults with clients in all aspects of their employee benefit plans.
Dave works closely with the firm’s Employee Benefits Group who specializes in the audits of large retirement plans. Dave consults on tax issues related to these plans. From 1983 to 1986, Dave worked for the Employee Plans/Exempt Organizations Division of the Internal Revenue Service. His responsibilities included review and analysis of qualified retirement plans, field audit assignments, and issuance of IRS determination letters. Dave has been involved in assisting clients in all aspects of their employee benefit plans including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and cafeteria plans. His extensive experience includes qualification, compliance, planning opportunities and IRS and Department of Labor examinations.
