Hi Everyone,Well Fall has arrived! It feels as though the Summer breezed by this year. I hope everyone in the chapter is doing well and staying safe. The chapter's first WebEx technical meeting went very well and had a lot of participants. Our entire board would like to thank Ashley Gibson for presenting our first meeting of this nature. In October the chapter will be hosting a Student Night on October 20th at 6pm. This will be over Zoom and the link to join is on the chapter's event page. Dale Kime from Kelly Services will presenting on interviewing and resumes. He is very knowledgeable and gave a great presentation at last year's Student Night. Also, Jeff Davis who is a Senior VP at Presbyterian Senior Living will present on the importance of Accounting professionals in the development and implementation of business strategy. This will be a great event for students and established professionals to connect (even during the pandemic.) So if you know any Accounting students, please recommend to them that they attend! The Cleveland East Chapter will also be awarding a scholarship this year. This will be the Ernie Brass III Memorial Scholarship and will be for $500. Ernie had been an integral member of the chapter and an IMA for nearly 40 years. Any Accounting students in the area should contact a board member for information of the application process. To our chapter members, please pass this along to any students you may think would be interested. Finally, if any members of the chapter would like to hold a position on the chapter's board there are positions available. For our younger members, this could provide an opportunity to gain some leadership experience to boost their resume. Feel free to contact myself or any of the chapter's board members.
